KNOW YOUR PLACE IN GOD

There are Christians who firmly believe that God loves them. However, they fall short of what God intends for them to possess – peace, prosperity, and wholeness. This failure in falling short is not due to sin.  Christ Jesus became the propitiation for our sin [1 John 2:2].  Their falling short of the glory of God is due to not knowing their place in God. We cannot truly glorify God and walk in our Kingdom authority until we digest this massive love that only the LORD can provide. Understanding our place in God not only brings us closer to Him but also brings us peace, prosperity, and wholeness.

At the heart of Christian faith is the concept of God's love and redemption for humanity. St. John 3:16 declares, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." This foundational verse underscores God's immense value on each individual and highlights the transformative power of faith in Christ. The first step in knowing your place in God is knowing you are VALUABLE to God. This understanding is not imposed on us, but it's a choice we make through our faith in Him.

Another critical scripture that speaks to knowing one's place in God is Ephesians 2:10, which states, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." This verse emphasizes the unique purpose and calling that God has bestowed upon every believer. It reminds us that we are not merely random beings in the universe but intentional creations designed for meaningful contributions to God's kingdom. The second step in knowing your place in God is knowing God created you with a UNIQUE purpose.

Moreover, Romans 8:28 provides a firm assurance of God's sovereignty and providence in your life, stating, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This passage offers comfort and reassurance, affirming that even during life's challenges and uncertainties, God orchestrates events for your ultimate benefit. The third step in knowing your place in God is understanding that God is INTENTIONAL with your future, and His plans for you are always for your good.

The Bible presents numerous narratives of individuals who discovered their place in God through personal encounters and divine revelations. These stories are historical accounts and living testimonies of how God reveals Himself to His people. Abraham, often referred to as the father of faith, responded obediently to God's call, trusting in His promises despite the apparent impossibility of the situation (Genesis 12:1-4). Similarly, Mary, the mother of Jesus, humbly accepted her role in God's plan, declaring, "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled" (Luke 1:38). These stories remind us that God is not distant or abstract, but a living, loving, and guiding presence in our lives.

These biblical accounts and teachings should not only inspire, but also empower us to actively seek God's will through His word. There is a call to action, a challenge to surrender our desires and ambitions to His divine purpose. Knowing one's place in God is an active journey of acknowledging His lordship, trusting in His guidance, and actively participating in His redemptive work. It's a journey that leads to a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with God and a life of purpose and impact, where you play an active and significant role.

The Bible offers profound insights into knowing one's place in God, emphasizing the importance of faith, obedience, and surrendering to His will. By grounding ourselves in the truths of scripture and seeking communion with God through prayer and worship, believers can find fulfillment and purpose in their relationship with Him, knowing the LORD will always want what’s BEST for us.
